Sanok's question caused Jackson to stop and search his memory for a moment.

Tom smiled and said " as a matter of fact I think so. I remember seeing what looked similar to our docking bay door. I believe it was not far from our landing spot".

Tom had to admit this was more likely to succeed than his gamble. ~ that's why he's the # 1~ Tom thought .

Tom looked to the rest of the group and asked "Anyone have a map or schematic that had something like a landing bay on it?"

(Alien Station - Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen ACMO - Day 2 - 0051)

Andersen firmly believed that Sanok and Jackson had a brilliant plan,
they all would escape in a shuttle craft belonging to the aliens - taking
a souveneer technology with them - the craft - and rescuing the Tesla
crew as well. However, there were more then ninety of them, and Ailyn,
or anyone else for that matter, didn't know how much could fit inside
a single of these crafts. She thought for a mere second to come to a
conclusion that in a worst case scenario, they could always take more
then one with them.

With Jackson remembering a docking bay door not far from the spot
where they landed, the plan seemed like it's going to work.

"Anyone have a map or schematic that had something like a landing bay
on it?" Tom Jackson asked while looking to others.

Andersen just shrugged and bounced her head left to right and back again.
She had nothing of a sort, but she more or less remembered the way they
came back in. Her memory was trained, and she had photographic memory
abilities but she would need to concentrate to remember the way. She was
ready for it if need be.

"I think I may be able to remember the way, in case we don't find any kind
of map or schematic." she explained looking at Sanok and Jackson.

Of course, the whole thing she just said was likely hard to believe and she
expected the others to still trust an map or schematics more then her
memory. And then it struck her.

"Sir, back in the interrogation room, where I was questioned - I believe I saw
a computer that had some sort of 3D schematics layout. I couldn't understand
any of the characters, but I believe someone with a knowledge of technology
might be able to use the console and show us the way we need to go." she
explained to both of the sirs. Of course, she wasn't exactly the perfect
candidate for the job - but luckily they had majority of high ranking officers
from the Rose and Tesla officers as well.

Sanok listened to everyone's reports and suggestions.  He also assessed the situation, considering the number of people now in their group and their various states of mind and physical conditions.  All-in-all, they had to get out of there, and as quickly as possible.

"Mister Jackson, take the doctor and Mister Allen and find that room.  Ensign Gomez, take Mister James with you and return to the control room and retrieve the rest of our people.  We need to leave this station.  I will take the Tesla crew and head for the hatchway where you initially boarded.  We'll coordinate from there."

The FO said.

"I'm on it." Heath replied nodding to James.

They left the main group behind and moved back into the corridor, he didn't think they would encounter any more of the aliens but he wasn't ready to take any chances.

"Keep your eyes peeled." He said.

They remained silent as they moved back towards the control room, Heath reflected on the events of the past day.

 As Sanok issued orders, Tom Jackson checked his equipment. Standing up he told Allen and the Doc to 'saddle up'.

 As the entered the hallway, he issued his orders,"Dr., since you remember the way to the control room for the mind device is, You take the point, followed by me and then Allen you bring up the rear -,providing rear guard security. Any questions?

Tom hated to put the doc on the point but she was the best chance of quickly reaching the schematics in the control console.

Before he ordered move out Tom spoke to the doctor briefly ."Doc, I hate to do this but since you know where things are you have to take the lead. I hope the StarFleet oath and the oath you took as a Doctor won't   come into conflict" as he patted  her shoulder .

(Alien Station - Lt. Tom Jackson - 2O/COPS - 0055)

Tom and the others headed to the area where Doc Anderson remembered seeing a type of console.

Jackson kept his eyes roving - looking for signs if trouble and danger. So far nothing but that's what worried Tom.

Another part of his mind was reviewingthe mission   so far. Some aspects pleased him and some didn't. He made a note to review the mission afterwards to seed where they'd slipped up.

Several folks were worthy if mention. Tom had made some plans along that line of thought as well.

After Andersen gave her idea, Jackson told her and Allen to get
ready.

"Dr., since you remember the way to the control room for the mind
device is, You take the point, followed by me and then Allen you bring
up the rear -, providing rear guard security. Any questions?"

"No questions, sir." she replied

"Doc, I hate to do this but since you know where things are you have
to take the lead. I hope the StarFleet oath and the oath you took as a
Doctor won't      come into conflict" he said coating her shoulder.

Luckily for all, two doctors from the Tesla crew already started helping
everyone, including few of the aliens in pain, obviously understanding
that they need to patch them up quickly and then put them to the brig,
where most of aliens seemed to be situated at the moment. Andersen
were free to lead the squad back to the interrogation room.

"My knowledge is not currently needed here, now that the Tesla crew
are helping out. I am ready, sir." she slowly explained - she was loosing
the concentration by now.

(Rosenante COPS Quarters Dahlia Jackson, 0057)

 Dahlia Jackson had a unique almost psychic link with her husband Tom.
Moshe had woken with a start and knew Tom was under a lot of stress.

~Oh Thomas I know you're worried but you'll know what to do as  you always
do~ she thought hoping he'd sense her love and concern across the distances
that separated  them physically .

Tom was really two different people - one the SF officer and the other a
big kid. He loved to get on the floor and play with twins . He was a great
husband and father.

She hoped he'd be able to take spot of leave and the  family could relax.
It would give them some family time - something they'd not gotten a kit of
lately.

She smiled and Kay down on their sofa and tried to relax - the twins  would
undoubtedly wake early .

(Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0058)

Once the first part of his plan was ready, Tho'var make some check with the USS Rosenante, but find out something of concerns. While the sensors could send information and back from the USS Rosenante, it had been impossible to exchange any high level of energy as it was blocked. ~A transporter beam would be blocked as well~ he reflected. 

"Sir, I have to report we won't be able to beam on the Rosenante. They haven't gave transporter access. I've also checked and the console has no control over shields, nor transporter access."

 "Sir, my idea work only if we have transporter access. The delay from triggering the portal shutdown to reach a shuttle then get back to the USS Rosenante is too great and imprecise. How can I know how long will it takes. It is either we let the portal open, or we find another way. But I may have one. I believe the sensor could be used to detect what block transporter signals. By destroying what block it, we should be able to beam on board if the Rosenante is far enough from the enemy ship. It would be far easier for the portal shutdown if I could be beamed directly from the control room.  It may also be a safer plan, as we won't have to leave this place in search for a shuttle. If we leave it, we may never get it back. and this control room is key to us returning and prevent any more ship or people to be stolen again.."

Tho'var went back to work. The station shields had been down for a while now. This was why the Rosenante rescue mission had been able to come on board. Certainly the specie had not found a way to raise shields. Transporter blocking were probably caused by an extra mesure. Only those knowing the precise gap in the transponding blocking frequency could transport without problem. Those who did not would be unable to beam. Normally, the transporter frequency would be found on the Operation Officer console on the bridge. The Station main control would certainly be well defended, so he had to find an other way. He had to find what was creating the transporter interference. Normally, it would be beam blocker installed along the hull. If he saw them, he could certainly recognize them. But how to get there?

The wormhole console was using a lot of power and conduits, and was linking to a huge system of sensors positioned on the Station. Certainly, the engineer had to design space behind that console for all those conduits to get through. If he created a hole in the plating, he could perhaps get behind the console and follow it until he reached the hull, and then he would only have to check  

"Ensign Signos, can you create a hull in this plating using your weapon? I need a hole enough to get through but that would only damage the plating and not what is behind. That is why I ask your help, I'm not that precise with a weapon but I need a chirurgical beam.."

Tho'var examined the plating and all the console and determined where it was the most likely place to create the hole. He then watched ensign Jessica as she did what he asked with quite some skill. 

"Thank you ensign. Ensign C'Nell, if it is okay with Lieutenant Commander Matrix, I would need your help in there. While I look for the beam blockers, I'll need someone to closely monitor the electrical current and plasma charges. There will be a high chance of burning or magnetic field exposure. We will have to find our way through it. If the builder have build it well, they should have created their own kind of jefferies tubes, if they haven't, we will have to create on our way to there." 

Tho'var knew what he asked implied dangers, but being Vulcan, C<Nell could resist such magnetic current and plasma burns better than anyone else. As for himself, it was easier to risk your life than ask other to do it..

(Alien Station - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 2 - 0059)

Andersen took the lead, she got an phaser rifle in her hands and she
felt more ready this time. Corridor after corridor they walked through,
and Ailyn would stop every so in a while, closing her eyes to remember
the way.

All this time, it would seem Jackson was in his thoughts. Perhaps he
was thinking what to do further.

While walking, she thought herself a bit as well.
She wasn't envious to the people being deployed far away from home,
anymore. Not one bit, actually. It did not feel as nearly as esteemed as
they Starfleet would make it look like at the occasional advertisement
back on earth. She was dirty, her hair was ruined, she was wounded,
feeling the blunt pain underneath her skin on several places and she
really felt like a broken toy. She wondered if all the missions she would
be in are going to look like this one. At this time, it seemed to her, for
the first time, that they're actually going to get away from the station.

Judging by what they were able to push through so far, it was highly
unlikely these aliens would be able to stop them - specially now, having
the full compliment of the USS Tesla backing them up as well.

However, something was amiss here, they still weren't met by the
station's commanding officer, so she knew there still could be noticeable
threat left to deal with.

She concentrated on the corridors, but her thoughts would, like a wind,
murmur from one thing to another. She couldn't concentrate at all
anymore, she was trying hard to push her thoughts and her mind to
vision the way. But, it wouldn't take much of her energy any more... they
were there.

Andersen didn't felt like tiptoeing anymore, and went in first, almost lodging
herself to the wall to the left, leaving enough room for someone else to get
in at the right side. The room was eerly empty, not a single sound could be
heard. And the body that was lying on the floor wasn't here anymore.

"Here sir." she said, pointing her finger to the console at the right side of the
room.

"Last time, I just..." she started, and when she touched the, almost water-like
surface of the console, a 3d layout of the current level of the station was
brought up. She knew if she double-presses with her fingers on a specific point,
that a nearby monitor would patch in the local surveillance system as well.
By dragging, the layout would move to the specific side and even turn horizontal.

"Well, it seems actually there's a hangar bay of some kind not very far away from
here." Andersen said while pointing to an obvious structure at one of the sides
to the current level. By dragging to the other side, even another hangar bay turned
itself obvious as well.

"Good idea." she said, double tapping the hangar bay, then checking the smaller
monitors above the large one. Three out of four showed the hangar bay from
three different angles. There seemed to be four larger dark brown crafts and several
smaller that were noticeably pointier in design as well.

The door on the layout turned dark yellow, and a strange symbol was written on one
of the sides of it, and something resembling the arrow was going from that symbol
to the other side of the hangar doors.

"Maybe, I definitely never worked with anything like this..." she explained with a
long pause. Pressing the symbol and dragging it to the other side, the doors of the
hangar bay seemed to have opened.

"Bingo!" she said enthusiastically. Then looking around, trying to find something
similar for the outer doors, she found nothing. Shrugging, she added "I guess that
the outer doors are opened from the inside of hangar bay."

A moment of intrigue caught with her, looking around, she asked herself how much
more secrets this station holds... and as she made a face, she figured she'll never
find out.

(Chikola Station, First Pregus Men Olarid, Day 2, 0100)

Things were falling apart all around him.  Olarid had allowed the enemy captain to talk to his people, but instead of leaving, they had continued with their mission and rescued their clan mates from the first ship.  That shouldn't have happened.  They should have left under the fear of the execution threat he had given.  That was what this Federation did.  They allowed hostages' lives to dictate policy.  They should have left.

All their security teams had been defeated.  The portal control room was no longer under their control.  Their fleet was coming, but still too far away to help.  He had only one thing left to do.

"Waken the altered soldiers from the special sleep boxes."

"Pregus?  Those are to be used only to launch the attack in the Holy Crusade for Freedom.  To use them as station security, is unspeakable."

"Do as I say, or I'll send you with a weapon to retake the control room!"  Olarid was angry at being questioned.

"Yes, Pregus.  My grievous error for even questioning you."

"For your sake, let it be your last grievous error."

"Yes, Pregus."

It was true that using the anointed soldiers as simple station security, was an unspeakable act, but it was their last chance to retake the portal control room.  If it didn't work, their great crusade was lost anyway.  That was why it had to work.

(Rosenante, Bridge, CO, Captain Ben Soma, Day 2, 0101)

Ben had been relieved when Tom had stated that everyone was alright, the crew of the Tesla had been found and freed as had Sanok and Kevras. The news about the damaged EVA gear was another matter, they didn't have enough suits for everyone to transit together and multiple trips would take too long. Tom recommendation was the best option but he was certain the stations commander wouldn't like the idea. One way to find out, turning to the SO at tactical he said.

"Alert all transporter rooms to be on standby, if we get the go ahead I want all starfleet personnel off that station as quickly as possible. If we have to grab a few of their people in the process so be it."

"Aye Sir." Came the reply as the officer set about contacting the Roses transporter rooms and relaying the instructions. 


"Open a channel to the station." He said.

With a nod the SO indicated he could proceed.

"Station Commander." Ben began. "Our suits that have been used to enter the station have been damaged leaving my people trapped on the station. If you would allow us the use of our transporters I could pull them out without having to send additional people with more suits."

Ben didn't expect the Commander to buy that but it was worth a try, they were close to breaking through the interference surrounding the station so in a matter of half an hour he would be able to lock onto the away teams and any concentration of life signs on the station anyway. One way or another he would get everyone off before the reinforcements arrive.

Tom watched the young physician move out. She was learning fast. He felt
she would be ready to be the Rose’s CMO once they got back to the ship.
She’d pause periodically and mentally re-trace her path to the console.

Tom wondered why the station had been so lightly manned. He suspected the
others were curious about that as well.

Dr. Andersen went in first, she wisely moved along one wall. almost lodging
herself to the wall to the left, leaving enough room for someone else to get
in at the right side. Jackson remembered the firefight and now the sound of
silence – wuite a change he thought.

The doctor spoke breaking the silence "Here sir." she said, pointing her
finger to the console at the right side of the
room.

"Last time, I just..." she started, and when she touched the, almost
water-like surface of the console, a 3d layout of the current level of the station was
brought up. She knew if she double-presses with her fingers on a specific
point, that a nearby monitor would patch in the local surveillance system as well.

Tom smiled and complimented the young officer with “Well Done Doc:.

“Great “ Tom answered. His mind started working the problem. He decided
that he and the Doc would head to the hanger – James would follow trailing
them.

Tom issued his instructions “ We are heading to the hanger bay – James pay
attention how we get there. You’ll go back and lead the rest of the folks
to use – be alert and don’t get caught

The doctor added "Good idea." she said, double tapping the hangar bay, then

Tom nodded – she was good, real good.  How are the doors opened from the
inside or out?” Jackson asked.

Her luck continued a=with an excited "Bingo!" she said enthusiastically.
Then looking around, trying to find something similar for the outer doors,
she found nothing. Shrugging, she added "I guess that the outer doors are
opened from the inside of hangar bay."

Tom thought a minute and said “Good here’s what we are going to do” Tom
said.

“James is bringing the rest of our group to the hangar bay – You Doc and I
are going to look the craft over and see if we can figure out how to fly
them without giving the bad guys too easy of a target. I hope you are a ick
study “Tom added smiling.

C'Nell watched Signos created the hull, then he listened as his superior included him in his plan.
 
"Thank you ensign. Ensign C'Nell, if it is okay with Lieutenant Commander Matrix, I would need your help in there. While I look for the beam blockers, I'll need someone to closely monitor the electrical current and plasma charges. There will be a high chance of burning or magnetic field exposure. We will have to find our way through it. If the builder have build it well, they should have created their own kind of jefferies tubes, if they haven't, we will have to create on our way to there." Kevras said.
 
"Burns and field exposure do not bother me, I am a starfleet officer it would be illogical to be worried about occupational dangers, does a Klingon targ handler fear being bitten? I shall do what you command sir, I hope they have been logical but I have strong evidence for the contray!"

C'Nell took his position, set up his tricorder for the suitable monitoring, he did a broad sweep of the surrounding officers before locking his gaze on Kevras
"Sir, my Vulcan genetics should resist the plasma burns, do not put yourself at unnessecry risk, although I know that starfleet sometimes operates illogically for immediate effect"
 
He nodded at his superior after this to indicate he was ready; indeed he was.

Matrix wasn't surprised by the news, but hoped things would be a bit easier now that they fought their way this far. ~Not to be.~ thought matrix. "I can't say that I'm surprised Lieutenant." replied Matrix.

"I agree Lieutenant. However, I think targeting the source of what is blocking the signals and precisely hitting it with whatever energy weapon we can access would be equally difficult. We're a bit blind and hamstrung by the lack of controls as you pointed out. Perhaps we keep at least one person here to work the controls just in case?" ask Matrix.

Matrix thought for a bit and proposed another idea. "Perhaps we can use the shuttle's scanners to help isolate the source of whatever is blocking the transporter signals?" Matrix sat back down at the nearest console and accessed what he hoped was the engineering status board. Confused by much of the display he did recognize aspects of the data. "We may be able to bring the shuttle closer to us using reverberation amplitude modulation. These signal blocking frequencies are likely saturating the entire area. We may be able to insert our own commands and either engage the shuttles' scanners or even its propulsion system. The biggest issue is determining its security code to do so. What do you think? asked Matrix.

You Doc and I are going to look the craft over and see if we can
figure out how to fly them without giving the bad guys too easy
of a target. I hope you are a ick study" Tom added while smiling.

"Yes sir, I'm downloading this part of the map to our tri-corders,
with this, it will take us very little time to get there." she explained.

She picked her tri-corder back up, and nodded to Jackson, and the
trio left out the room.

This time, the long walk paid off, and they knew exactly where they
are. No alien patrol was detected, however, and it really seemed as
easy as a walk through the park. Definitely too easy.

~Perhaps they are regrouping and will make another push once they
get their numbers back up.~ Ailyn told to herself - trying to
understand why the long corridors and this great station somehow
felt deserted.

The walk ended with the long bulky armored doors, seemingly capable
of taking quite a punishment before they would buckle. Fortunately
for them, the doors were opened.

They finally made the  hanger bay tanks to Doctor Anderson’s excellent memory.  They took several moments to make sure they were alone.
 
“James, head back and get the rest here ASAP”  Tom ordered.

Tom made sure James got on his way correctly and safely. He turned to the doctor and spoke “Lets llool at the first shuttle together and see what we can learn ok?”

Their luck still was holding as one of the bigger shuttles had its access panel open. The pair clambered in and Tom saw the cockpit was laid fairly closely to Federation shuttles.
“Doctor, see anything that looks like a checklist or startup control?”

The shuttles had their control linked to a touch pad system  - sliding ones finger up looked like it would increase velocity and moving from left to right moved the craft it seemed in the direction the finger went.
 
Tom played with the controls a bit – moving the shuttle up and down while staying put. The sensitivity was something they’d have to go easy on.

(Alien Station, Sec/Tac PO David Allen, Day 2, 0107)

Jackson said, "James, head back and get the rest here ASAP."

"It's Allen, sir.  James went with Ensign Gomez to get our people from the portal control room."  David gave a quick smile, but got out of there before Jackson could say anything.

David knew they were in a high-stress situation, and to the higher-ups, the enlisted personnel were pretty much the same.  David had career aspirations, and just because he hadn't graduated from the academy, didn't mean they weren't as important as an officer's.  He had done well on this mission, and he wanted the credit and recognition due him. This wasn't the only major mission he wanted to be a part of.

David moved cautiously through the empty corridors of the station.  For as big as this place was, he couldn't understand how the Hikani leaders could have made the decision to man it with so few personnel.  It should have been swarming with them.  Their rescue mission should never have had a chance.

Time passed and David made it back to where the Tesla crew had been rescued.  No one was there.  Now what?  Where had Commander Sanok and the Tesla crew gone?  Had they been recaptured?  He needed to tell Lieutenant Jackson.

(Chikola Station, First Pregus Men Olarid, Day 2, 0108)

Olarid was staring blankly at the floor, hoping his desperate plan to use their anointed soldiers as a means to retake the portal control room, would work.  He was risking everything he desired to be in Hikani society, but at this point, what else could he do?  He had to take the risk.

The control console chirped.

"Pregus, the..."

"Ignore them."

"Yes, Pregus."

The enemy captain was the last person he wanted to talk to right now.  In fact, he was tired of these fleet people even being there.

"Destroy the enemy ship.  Blast them out of space."

"Yes, Pregus."

At least one of his problems would be solved.

The Vulcan thought for a few minutes "Your plan is viable Sir" he address matrix "I do see your problem but-" 
C'Nell closed his eyes; his arms began to move in the air as if he was physically dismissing the ideas with his arms. He needed to look at the console Matrix sat at, he indicated for Matrix to get up.

He began to have a look at the console; "Computer reconise voice imput-ALPHA-2-HIKANI"

The computer bleeped for a couple of seconds; the console responded, he was thinking back to the Insitution "Special" computer lessons; slicing. He stood up; without explaination.

"I lack the skills to impliment the next part-I am a scientist not an engineer" he said and indicated for one of them to take the chair

(USS Rosenante, Bridge, CO, Captain Ben Soma, Day 2, 0111)

Ben was waiting for the stations commander to reply to his request, whether he gave the permission or not as soon as he was able he was going to beam his people out of there. It was just a matter of time before they could cut through the interference, restore communications and get a lock on any life sign inside the station. The Tesla crew was rescued which uped their odds greatly, assuming there were no serious injuries there was now close to one hundred starfleet officers on that station. 

Suddenly warning klaxons blared and the SO at tactical announced a torpedo was for them again.

"Evasive maneuvers." Ben ordered. 


The image on the view screen skewed once again as the Rose rolled to avoid the torpedo, the image of the station began to shift to the right as the officer at the conn set a course and engaged the impulse engines. Then the ship shook violently, violently enough to throw Ben from his seat. He hit the floor hard and barely caught himself, the action sprained his wrist as he struck the carpet. He could feel the carpet burn on the right side of his face as he stood, if he wasn't able to catch himself the burn would have been worse. 


Another console had blown out in the rear and flames erupted from it's innards, the automatic fire suppression system kicked in dousing the flames.  The SO was not at his post, Ben ran around to see if the officer had been injured in the explosion. As he turned round the command center he saw the SO laying on the floor in a pool of blood, a large shard of the crystal display embedded in his neck.

Ben wasted no time getting to the tactical station, it seemed functional enough. A quick scan and he determined the origin of the torpedo, he selected that area on the targeting scanners and then selected a quantum torpedo. This time the repair bots would have their work cut out for them, that was if there was anything left to repair. He hit the fire control and sent the torpedo on it's way, it impacted the station in a massive explosion which filled the view screen. A quick scan showed severe damage to the launch mechanism, one less to worry about. Another warning sounded and he glanced at the display, two more torpedoes incoming.

"Captain." Came a voice from helm.

"I see them, roll to port and head high." He said.

Hopefully they would avoid them, moments later he'd get his answer. Time seemed to stop as he  tracked the torpedoes course, he was certain they would avoid one but the other was another matter. Another moment passed and sure enough the first torpedo just missed them a moment later and the second torpedo slammed into the ventral shields. Once again the ship shook violently, he grabbed the console to steady himself but the force of the impact threw him into the console behind him. He took the brunt of the impact on his left side and dropped hard to the floor. His vision had blurred slightly and when he stood a searing pain hit his ribs. Moving back to the tactical station he saw the shields were down to eighty eight percent, even with the added power from the spiral drive they wouldn't hold for long.

"Set a course for the station." He ordered.

"Sir?"

"Take us close, close enough they can't target us." He explained.

"How close Sir."

"Close enough that I can reach out of an air lock and touch their hull." He said.

As they approached the station proximity alarms began sounding, he shut them off and leaned on the console. His ribs were hurting along with his wrist, the carpet burn was bleeding and he could feel the blood slowly running down his face.

"Hold position here." Ben said. 


They were close to breaking the interference and at this range he hoped it would be easier. He opened a channel and crossed his fingers.

"Rosenante to away teams, please respond." He said.

Several minutes passed without any reply, he tried again with the same result. He boosted the signal to maximum and put what ever power he could spare into the array, several more minutes of tweaking and he was certain he had it. Time to try again, he opened the channel again.

"Rosenante to away teams." He said.

(Alien Station - Hangar Bay - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 2 - 0113)

When they went in, Jackson ordered James to get back and get the rest
to the hangar bay. With the improvised map, he could find most of the
parts of the particular level of the station they were on and get back,
leading the team and the Tesla crew back.

"Let's llool at the first shuttle together and see what we can learn ok?"
Jackson asked.

Andersen nodded. The duo came to one of the bigger crafts, luckily this
particular one has had it's outer door opened, granting them an easy access.

After getting in, Jackson got comfy on the chair, adding

"Doctor,  see anything that looks like a checklist or startup control?"

"Umm..." she stopped for a second, sitting on the chair, that withdrew
slightly back and came closer to the panel - obviously modifying for Doc's
smaller body frame.

"I do not understand the symbols, but I think I can decipher what some of
the drawings mean." she said, the panel first lighted the symbols several times
blinking between, and then smaller drawings of systems. One particular had
an deeper gold hue about it, and on the mini-layout of the ship currently on the
console, was situated behind the crew compartment but not completely back.

The best she could think of it, is that it was a powerplant of some kind.

She pressed the system, the menu that got brought up had several choices, in
three different colors, the middle one was again gold colored. The logical
thing would be to assume the continuation of the startup would be on that one,
although she risked the probability of it being something entirely else - perhaps a
self destruct sequence.

But there wasn't enough time to take a break and try to understand these systems,
she pressed it, and a strange hum could be heard from the craft's aft part. Several
messages got exchanged on the screen, several symbols changing colors to the gold
as well, and as they were, the craft got up above the ground and the seats buckled
themselves up. Whatever she did, it definitely turned the craft's engines on.

Jackson quickly got used to the controls, it seemed, playing with them for a bit,
nagging the craft in one direction, then to another. The movements were quite fast,
it was obvious that it was quite maneuverable. The feeling was if the craft completely
ignored the artificial gravity on the station, defying it's force, as if it was free to move
to any direction at a nudge of pilot's finger.

Andersen quickly figured she could use her feet on the few of the strips on the floor,
acting like pedals, these in turn started changing the layers of the craft on her screen,
with a finger touch, she could, in theory anyway, manipulate with any of the system
on the craft - upon choosing what she believed to be a frontal energy weapon device,
three sliders showed, they were currently all at half. She told herself these are more
then likely fine controls for energy input to a specific device and perhaps some
special controls for the given device. Double-tapping the system turned it gold, thus on.

After she turned what she thought was the weapon device back off, she turned to Tom.

"I think I have control of the systems of this particular craft. If I'm reading this correctly,
we are currently without shields, our weapons are offline but our engines are at half
power." she explained

She giggled at Jackson's nod, he was definitely right. How much the craft could be
maneuverable anyway?

"Sadly" she started getting back serious, "I haven't found a way to open the outer doors."

"However, I do believe I can close the Hangar Bay's inner doors - the one we came from."
she explained, for a second, it seemed to her Jackson did not understand what she
was proposing.

Perhaps he thought that she, as a doctor, would never opt for such a destructive
approach to solving a problem.

"After everyone's seated and we get the other three crafts up," she paused "We can close
the Hangar Bay's inner doors and.." she started explaining herself, looking down to the
console, moving her hands around like she's on the court martial.

But it seemed Tom Jackson knew exactly what Andersen had in mind. She knew next
to nothing about this craft's weapon systems, but if they are of similar technology to
Starfleet ones, she was pretty sure these can destroy the doors from the inside.

"Just my thinking, sir." she said nodding and approving Jackson's enthusiasm.

Not the most brilliant of way for a guest to leave, she thought, but it's still a plan.

(Alien Station - LCDR Steven Matrix - Day 2 - 0115)

Matrix was pouring over the display before him trying to
gleam clues to answering this pressing issue. C'Nell
motioned for him to move away from the console in a
rather disrespectful manner, but Matrix complied eagerly.
He did not want to interrupt the Vulcan's train of
thought especially if he could get the issue resolved.

After a few moments C'Nell moved away from the console
and announced "I lack the skills to implement the next
part-I am a scientist not an engineer."

Matrix pondered the display momentarily. "Nicely done
Mister C'Nell. It appears you've isolated the frequency
patterns. We just need to find a way to override or
piggyback command signals." replied Matrix.

(Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0116)

"Burns and field exposure do not bother me, I am a starfleet officer it would be illogical to be worried about occupational dangers, does a Klingon targ handler fear being bitten? I shall do what you command sir, I hope they have been logical but I have strong evidence for the contray!" answered C'Nell.

"Then come with me" replied Tho'var. Both moved into the new hole created in the plating. Examining the area, it seemed mostly to be the specie equivalent of ODN circuitry. There was also the equivalent of a small eps conduits. Tho'var examined down a few feet. He saw the larger eps conduits. It was huge. At least four feet per four feet. 

He pointed towards the conduit. "Any risk from this conduit down there?"

Tho'var nodded and moved forward. The area hadn't been conceived to walk through. It was a huge hole filled with conduits and circuitry without any floor to walk on. Tho'var had to hold himself along the conduits to move in the cavity of the inner hull. 

From the other side, he could have a better look at the console inner circuitry and power supply. If he has had the time, he would be trying to figure out its configuration, but he had more urgent matter to take care. He moved closer to the hull. 
"It isn't the last hull layout yet. There seems to be a few more. But the circuitry and eps seems to be more important here, so I would guess the beam blocker being on our side of the plating layer."

"Beam blocker doesn't require a lot of power. However, to block the transporter signals, it is composed of a dish and several emitter to boost the blocking signals. It requires more data input and output than power output, so the ODN equivalent would be a better indication than the EPS conduit equivalent. So look for the ODN circuitry."

Tho'var reflected on the strategy to use. If they could test blocking efficiency and look for the strongest place, he could have a better idea where the beam blocker and the emitters were located. However, he was on the wrong side of the blocking. He wasn't the one with the transporter, but the one to be transported from. That is when he got an idea. 

Removing its communicator logo, he started to remove the cover. Using an engineering tool he had with him, he started modifying it to create a signal closer to a transporter signal than a communication signal. The difference was mostly converting the normal wave format to a wave format that could carry particles. However, he realized he needed a few more part. He looked back at C'Nell and fixed the tricorder, smiling.

Tom was getting the hang of the craft with the help of the doctor. His movements were getting much smoother now. 

He placed the craft back on the deck.

For once on this mission Tom felt they had a real edge. 

The doctor's next announcement may Tom feel much more relaxed.

"I think I have control of the systems of this particular craft. If I'm reading this correctly,we are currently without shields, our weapons are offline but our engines are at half power." she explained.

Tom looked up at the bay. The outer doors were shut tight. Thus was not good.

Doc Anderson anticipated Tom's unspoken question. She outlined her idea. Jackson thought about all she had described.

"Doc, unless someone can figure out the way to open the doors, we'll go with your plan. Do you have any idea if these ships have shielding systems?" Tom queried.

"If I'm understanding this correctly, we have two shield generators, these are
currently offline. We have two frontal and one aft weapons, by the diagrams,
I believe the aft can fire dorsal as well as ventral, but there are still three systems
I know nothing of. One particular..." she stopped, pointing the fingers to the
console that revealed a system that clearly shown some kind of a gate on itself
"...I tried using, but it definitely doesn't open the outer gates of the hangar bay."
Andersen said making a face, it was obvious she didn't know a thing about this
vessel.

"We should be able to fit quite a lot of people in these. The aft area is able to hold
about 25 people, and there's five seats up front here." she explained, looking behind
and around herself, for a large shuttle equivalent, this bridge-like room looked pretty
spacious.

"There doesn't seem to be any indication what kind of technology is used for the
powerplant, but I do believe it is warp capable." she explained and then smiled

She knew that more then likely they didn't really need that, but she also knew that
Jackson would always have a plan B in case something goes bad.

The vessel was just hovering over the floor in an eerly quiet way. The ship had no
visible nacelles of any kind yet looking at the controls in front of her, it was obvious
that this kind of a ship comes with a high level of technology and it would more then
likely be warp capable - or it would have something similar instead.

She still had no clues what the other three controls do though, because they did not
activate when they tried them on.

After fixing the console, C'Nell followed Kevras down the hole that had been expertly crafted by Signos. He could reconise the EPS conduits as well as guess that this was ODN Circutory but he knew the Engineer must have a greater understanding of the situation. 
 
"Any  from the conduit here?" Kevras asked
 
C'Nell lowered his gaze, in order to get through the hole he had left most equipment, but he had his tricorder. He examined it; "I am reading increased heat signatures and nadion levels but that will be because of the blast; nothing else it is safe to continuie"
 
Kevras nodded and they moved on, C'Nell hit his head at one point and cursed in Vulcan but he was behind the commander so he did not see or hear the quiet profanity. Instead he moved closer to the hull saying;
 
"It isn't the last hull layout yet. There seems to be a few more. But the circuitry and eps seems to be more important here, so I would guess the beam blocker being on our side of the plating layer."
 
"That is good, I remember 0G training it was unpleasant, if any form of space walk was to be required I am not sure I would be so useful" C'Nell replied

C'Nell and his superior began to move about; the space was cramped. C'Nell began to adjust wires on one side as Kevras looked on the other, C'Nell misplaced his hand upon EPS wire, he burned his hand but he couldnt allow that to impeded him-not now. He looked again 
"HERE SIR!" he shouted so he could hear not becasue of excitment.

(Alien Station -ATAC Ensign (sg) Jessica Signos - Day 2 - 0122)

Jessica made the desired hole with the precision of a surgeon holding of a laser scalpel, it little time before the hole was made and the others of the team had access to the delicate equipment beyond.

She hated waiting she felt like something was wrong, it was that nagging that kept her on her toes. Even if the aliens that controlled the station had little to no military knowledge. They where just giving a rude lesson in the art of war, she knew the security teams would regroup and come at them in large numbers hoping to overcome superior training with superior numbers. It would be a risky gamble on both parts but by now they would know that the federation officers would need the wormhole open if they wanted to go home. If the Aliens had any sense about them Jessica and Lily both feared a full out assault on the portal room would be the next gambit. If they regained control the aliens would be able to cut the Rosenante off from any hope of escape and the rescue of any federation officers or crew would be a mute point. 

So she continued to prepare, she looked over at Rashen and it was apparent he was thinking a long the same line for he to was preparing for what each felt was the coming battle.

nrpg: Sorry Chance if I take liberties with Rashen just wanted to give a step in place if your time frees up.

Jessica went to tuning her circlet into the commband that Matrix had engineered she only hoped that it would be strong enough to get though to Sanok and the rest of the team.

"Signos to Sanok, Wormhole room secure, lace report to follow.  Lima... green, Alpha... green, Charlie... Six... green, Echo... green."

"Has long as we are gonna hold this position we need to improve our situation and fortify this area," She was looking at the catwalks. "And I suggest we start with those and clear the overhead."

(Alien Station -Ensign Heath Gomez - Day 2 - 0123)

When they had reached the control room Heath was relieved that they hadn't encountered any resistance, it was looking more like his assessment had been right. Either there were no more aliens to fight or there was the off chance they weren't going to send any more cannon fodder for them to use as target practice.Stepping inside the room Heath told James to keep an eye on the door, better safe than sorry. He wasn't expecting company but he also didn't want to be caught with his pants down. Looking around he saw the Roses crew working on the computers, the whole thing looked like gibberish to him but he was certain Matrix and Kevras could figure it out with the held of Maddox.

He moved over to join them.

"Sanok says we need to leave." He stated. "Any chance we can replicate this stuff just in case we have to destroy it later. Wouldn't want to be trapped here any longer than necessary."

She heard the slight hiss of the door open and turned phaser raised. She took a sigh of relief when a man wearing a federation uniform entered the room. She nodded to the newcomers, as they made there way to where the other were located.

"Sanok says we need to leave." Gomez stated. "Any chance we can replicate this 
stuff just in case we have to destroy it later. Wouldn't want to be 
trapped here any longer than necessary."

"If we can't get keep control of the wormhole with a fail safe to disable the device once we make it back to our space then everything we have done is mute."  Jessica spoke her voice even toned. "With any luck we will be done here soon and we'll be able to leave."

No later than Jessica finished her sentence when several of the doors to the control room entered and the aliens that controlled the station poured in from multiple entry points and filled the control room with the angry beams from their energy weapons.

Jessica screamed, "Hostiles." turned brought up her phase rifle and returned fire. It wasn't long before her worst fears were acknowledged because for every hostile that Jessica stuck down two more took its place. There wasn't much cover but Jessica used whatever cover she could find. It was apperant that the enemy meant to strike hard at the smaller force instead of taking on the entire force of the combined rescued crew and the away team.

It wasn't long before the aliens made there way to the ground floor and closed the distance to the small group of defenders. Jessica looked to Gomez "Give me covering fire, and I'll take care of any that make it the ground level."

Jessica knew it was best to split the sectors of fire, Jessica broke her cover and released several quick blast from her phase rifle, more enemies fell and more came in to take their place. She fired again and another alien solder fell, the one behind him had closed the distance. Jessica moved stepping between the hostile force and the rest of her team. She became a blur of motion a kick to his knee, brought the large man down breaking the sensitive bone she came across his face with the butt of her rifle which made his world go black. She turned to face the next attacker when a blast from an enemy weapon struck her in just below her ribs. She fell from the force of the blow but her armor held, for which she was thankful.

Mission: Through the Looking Glass
Day 2
Stardate: 2414.06.12

(Alien Station, FO/CSec Lt. Cmdr. Sanok, Day 2, 0126)

It had been slow-going, and they had to stop a few times for some of the injured to rest, but Sanok and the Tesla crew had made it to the hatchway where the rescue teams had first boarded the station, the place Sanok and Jackson agreed they would meet.  The problem was, no one else was there.

Since there were only three in Jackson's group, they easily moved faster, so it was logical to say they found the ship bay they were looking for.  Could they have been thwarted by more Hikani they didn't know were still here?

"So what happens now, Commander?"

It was Captain Wesson.

"We give my people more time, sir.  This is a large station, so it is logical that it is taking them longer than expected to find the Hikani ships."

"I get that, but some of my people need medical care right away.  We need to get off this place."

"Yes, sir, and we will.  I just ask that you be patient."

"Look, Commander Sanok, it isn't that we don't appreciate the rescue, we do, but I have people to take care of, and I need to do that.  They're counting on me.  I know you understand what that's like."

"We will be leaving soon, Captain.  You can count on my people."

Wesson sighed, nodded, and went back to his crew.

While Sanok waited for a word from Jackson, something that had been nagging at him, an image that was just on the edge of his mental perception, had finally become clear to him. From the telepathic interrogation, he now had full recollection of something that had been in his mind.  Had he still been living with his emotions, it would have shaken him.

It was absolutely imperative that this station be destroyed, no matter the cost.

As Tom and Doc Anderson were testing the flight controls their comm badges emitted a burst of static and he heard a welcome voice emerge .

(Alien Station - Hangar Bay - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 2 - 0128)

Jackson and Andersen were trying out the new systems - natively Jackson wanted
to know what are the vessel's defensive as well as offensive systems. Judging by
what they learnt so far, it seemed likely that the shuttle was actually much superior
to Federation runabout even and far surpassing that in terms of weapons power.

The talk was brought to a halt when their commbadges shouted loud.

=/\= Rosenante to away teams =/\= - the voice of the CO filled the shuttle bridge.

Jackson smiled, saying " the Calvary has arrived", hitting his commbadge.

Captain Soma and Jackson exchanged few sentences, but the bigger picture was
that they had the comfort of knowing that Rosenante was nearby. They wouldn't
be flying off into nothing with these shuttles they found.

Now, they just needed to regroup here in hangar bay and fly off.
Deep down in herself, she hoped that the station wouldn't be destroyed. This
kind of technology could definitely be useful to some people, but just the same she
knew that if there is a chance that the Rose crew will at least try to disable the
technology behind the wormhole generator, that they most definitely will. If this
kind of technology fell into wrong hands, a devastating direct launches of enemy
ships could happen deep into Starfleet boarder, where the defenses are unprepared,
and this decisive tactic could easily brought Starfleet defenses to a sudden and very
painful end - Andersen knew that even though she wasn't tactically gifted.

On the other hand, there was the implication of possible abductions of other
telepathic individuals belonging to other races, perhaps even to the point of attacking
larger planets holding such people. Of course the possibilities of such an attack left
quite a bitter taste.

She was definitely interested to hear what's the big plan now that they can talk
with Rosenante openly.

(Alien Station -Ensign Heath Gomez - Day 2 - 0129)

"Hostiles." Signos exclaimed.

Heath glanced up at her just as she called for covering fire, turning he began shooting and saw that James was engaged in a little hand to hand. Something about these soldiers were different, they were more organized and had better skills. Signos took down a couple with quick shots and Heath kept firing into the group in an attempt to keep them at bay. James was holding his own and managed to find some cover so Heath turned his attention to creating a cross fire with James. It was working but one soldier got through, Signos dispatched him pretty quickly. He swore he heard a bone break when she kick out her opponents knee. 


Glancing towards the fight he saw Signos take a blast and go down, he couldn't be sure of her injuries from this distance but her new attacker was moving in to finish her off. He took aim and pressed the firing stud on his rifle, the blast took the target center mass and sent him sliding across the floor. Several more came into the room but even with their skills they were no match for the cross fire and they too fell in time.

Heath got up form his covered position and moved towards Signos, she was still moving which was a good sign. The blast hadn't been fatal and it looked as if her armor had taken the brunt of the blast. Kneeling beside her he said.

"You still with us Ensign."

He helped pull her to her feet and kept one hand on her until he was certain she could stand unassisted.

"Let's hope that was the last of them." He said.

He looked around at the dozen new bodies on the floor and glanced in James' direction, he indicated four more outside.

"Let's get back to it." He said. "The faster we figure this out the sooner we can get out of here."

(Alien Station - Portal Control Room , CEO, LCDR Steven Matrix, Day 2, 0130)

The fire fight with the remaining Hikani was long over, but smoke still filled the control room. Matrix wasn't sure, but it didn't appear that the others were severely injured in the exchange. Still a slight dazed, Matrix had a few close calls and suffered a phaser burn to his left shoulder. An Hikani energy weapon had grazed his shoulder leaving a burned mark on his uniform and a cauterized wound on his flesh. The pain was aggravating, but Matrix was focusing on the portal issue.

Matrix said aloud, "Everyone okay?"

"C'Nell, Kevras...I need an update on the portal!" Ordered Matrix.

(Alien Station -ATAC Ensign (sg) Jessica Signos - Day 2 - 0135)
 

The fire had eased then stopped a slight reprieve as Heath got up form his covered position and moved towards Signos, she was 
still moving which was a good sign. The blast hadn't been fatal and it 
looked as if her armor had taken the brunt of the blast. Kneeling beside her he said "You still with us Ensign."

"I'm still here," She took the offered hand has Gomez helped her to her feet, Her uniform was tatters now and the polished armor that laid under wear the armor took the hit was blackened and was plainly visible.  

"Let's hope that was the last of them." Gomez spoke keeping and eye out for any hostiles.

Matrix said aloud, "Everyone okay?"

"I'll live Sir," She answered before turning to Gomez"I don't think so these were better trained and armed than the last, they are probably just regrouping and changing there tactics."
 Jessica spoke has she quickly took stock of her armor.

It was then something unexpectant happened when the comms on her tactical circlet chirped and a broken static filled voiced filled her comm system =/\=Ros...te  aw... tea...=/\=

She quickly pressed opened her comm. "Signos to Rosenante." She knew it was a long shot but she pressed a few buttons on her circlet and opened a s steady subspace feed if the Rosenante it allow the Captain a way for establish a better base of communication and allow the ship a way to teleport the federation officers off the station.

"Let's get back to it." Gomez spoke. "The faster we figure this out the sooner we can get out of here." He spoke heading to one of the doors that lead into one of the corridors beyond.

Jessica nodded and turned to head to the door when she heard the slightest tapping of metal on metal, like the falling of metal rain. dropping from the cat walks above. She turned to the noise just in time to see a small metal sphere fall within the group of federation officers.

The sphere landed and bounced, a high pitched wail started to emit from the device. Jessica knew instantly what it was and moved to save her comrades. "GET DOWN," she screamed, pushing Gomez out of the path of the device and diving on the explosive. It was one of those moments in one's life where everything slowed were mere seconds feel like years and all of ones life can be seen in retrospect in an instant. Jessica acted on instinct, there was no thought in her next action, has she tried to dive on the weapon. The device erupted her body hovering over the device when it went. 

The enemies grenade, a device that emits a high level sonic pulse to push the load of shrapnel at high speeds was ideal for this. For getting rid of the federation intruders. It would kill them with out harming the sensitive equipment with in the control room. The sonic pulse was the first to slam into the small frame body of Jessica the force shattered her armor in several places, stripping sral pieces away from her in the process, and in the next instant the shrapnel struck home, her body taking the majority of the deadly projectiles. Her armor took some of the force but in it's damage state Jessica herself took more than her share. Metal shards tearing deeply into her body. As her body took flight and landed on the far side of the room, blood flowing from the countless wounds pooling around her.

She was vaguely aware of what was going on around her there was one thing she needed done, a small bit of information she took from the Rose that could prove vital. She held up her tact corder, "Use it." She said meekly her strength draining. With in the small device was the control codes to both shuttles to remote their self destruct programs. She hoped it was a measure the federation need not use but she always fell on the caution and excess. But know it seemed the measure might be needed.

(Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0137)

Ensign C'Nell had been right. The larger ODN circuit he pointed lead to what looked very similar to starfleet beam blocker. 

"Can you identify the transporter frequency?"

(Reply C'Nell)

Tho'var took a look at the tricorder display. That took him a few second to figure out what it indicated. 

"Oh, okay. It's very similar to a rotating frequency as we use when facing Borg. However, it seems to be a much more evolve version. The frequency seems to change every nanosecond. That's why the tricorder cannot figure it out even at so close a distance. It cannot compute as much calculs as would be required to extrapolate a nanosecond very complex rotating mathematics."

Tho'var realized that to achieve such a complexity of calculs so fast, their computer must have been at least 80x times faster than theirs. That also explained a lot why they were able to keep a portal open while starfleet wasn't. 

He was examining the beam blocker when he heard fire. 

"I order you to head back, they might need your help. I will stay here and try to disconnect a few more beam blocker, that should give the Rosenante the means to have a transporter lock"

Once C'Nell gone, Tho'var tried to find a way to get access to the other blocker, but he soon realized it was impossible. The quickest way was simply to destroy it, so he did. Now he needed to find a few more. He estimated that while he needed only to deactivate one to allow communication to get throught and to partially detect live signs, he would need at least three to make sure the Rosenante had a lock on every atoms of their bodies.

Tho'var also felt the pressure of the clock. His team was certainly in danger and his ability to disrupt the blocking signal could perhaps be the only way to get out of here.

Kevras figured out the frequency, why it was changing so fast. He ordered C'Nell back towards the room. "Yes Sir!" C'Nell had heard the fire too; it would be a great trouble to him if Signos died, he had no attachments to every other person other than one of duty but she was "Section" or might be. Her death may cause problems or it might be a solution. C'Nell couldnt allow that kind of unknown.
 
So he charged. He ran in time to see the grenade,  to see Jessica jump and be thrown up. He swore loudly as she was blasted. Why did it have to be the one he wanted to perserve, surely the others knew standard procedure they could do it!
 
He looked for Hikani firing wildly and coming quickly to Jessica's side, "you!" he pointed at Heath, "cover us, Kevras should have the blockers down" he new this was probably insubordination but he did not have time

"Use it" she said, her reconised the device she held up to him as the tactical armband-the self destruct primed. He nodded, there was a sharpness to his eyes only someone who had been through Section 31 could see that he would do it.

C'Nell just had to hope he had acted correctly; Ensign's were supposed to follow orders not give them but he had learned sometimes the situation needed a bend in the rules. He just had to hope everything came together and this was one of those times.
